With a Unique Signature Process

People ask me all the time “How can I make marketing myself and my business feel more comfortable, organic, and heart-centered? So that it feels good and not hard or pushy?”

I love this topic of marketing because it's so multi-layered.

The concept of marketing, especially among certain groups, can feel kind of like a four letter word. It can feel foreign to us, a little icky, and a little sticky. That tends to be true for many of us here in my client world, a heart-centered group of women entrepreneurs, many of whom are healers, nurturers, and heart-based business owners. They want to help people and animals and heal the world and make life better here on our planet.

Sometimes musing on that question of how to market yourself can feel harsh and somewhat self centered. It gives you major FOMO, like there is a secret recipe that everyone but you knows, right? Those are feelings we want to avoid. We procrastinate, anticipating how hard marketing ourselves will be.

I love coaching my clients to develop a new mindset about marketing and what that means for them, their clients, and for their ability to positively impact planet Earth.

The Secret to Natural Marketing

I ask people to stop wondering how to market and instead ask, “How can I easily let people know that I can help them? How can I let people know that they can be happier with the outcomes that I provide, either through working with me, getting this super cool widget I made, or these really awesome supports that I provide?”

The mindset flip is to make it all about someone else getting what they need and want in the easiest, most authentic, and honest way. It’s not about having to push, convince, or coerce.

Attract, Nurture, Invite

This is a beautiful mantra for making marketing an easy, organic process for you in your business.

I love biomimicry, using nature’s forms, processes, and ecosystems as examples to help me improve my own life. I love natural processes that I can assimilate into business practices and mindset fast tracks.

The natural process of authentic, organic marketing is demonstrated for us so clearly in nature. She does in many ways, over and over again. She never provides false information or false processes. She doesn't falsely demonstrate ways for sustainability.

How does nature use marketing? How does one species appeal to and attract other species so that they both thrive because of it?

Let's take the flowers outside in your garden or in the fields as an example. The flowers show up, they are colorful, they smell great, they shine in the sunlight. They are proudly displaying their colors and they have what the bees need. They produce the pollen for the bees, and in return, pollinate other flowers and plants. They each thrive in this natural relationship!

Flowers aren't being salesy or pushy. They aren’t saying, “I'm better than the competition, you should work with me, I've got this thing I have to sell you.”

The flowers are saying, “I've got something really natural that's going to give you what you need.” And those bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds come calling.

Here’s another example of real, natural, honest to goodness marketing. Holly berries are a fundamental part of a bird's diet. They love them and eating them and they give the carbohydrates and calories necessary to make it through winter here in the cold parts of the world. Those berries help songbirds to thrive, but If mammals were to eat them, they would die. Holly berries are designed specifically for that one species and only they can do for those birds what is needed.

You have potential clients out there who are specifically designed and interested in getting to the next level of healing, growth, life, wellness, and success by working with you.

Certain things in nature, like the pollen and the berries, are exactly what specific groups of other beings need. The same is true for you in your business. Getting your message out to those who need you is a natural calling and part of your purpose.

Don’t be shy.
Shine your light brightly so they can find you.
Be like the berries or the flowers.

Meeting Needs, Fulfilling Desires, Solving Problems

One of the most important aspects to marketing is knowing who your ideal soulmate clients are, what they struggle with, and what they crave, need, and desire at a very fundamental level.

Having a Signature Process that you take your ideal soulmate client through to achieve the outcomes that they're after is doable, easy, and natural.

The first step is to be able to completely and clearly describe what it is that you do. This isn’t always easy to do, especially when we're first starting our coaching, healing, teaching, or training practice. What you do comes very naturally for you. If you're very good at it, it's not something you have to think about and break down. It flows, it's easy. So of course describing it can be challenging, you just do what you do.

But that doesn't help people to know and understand what it is that you do. You have to be precise. I'm going to share some tips with you to help you get precise and gain clarity and confidence so that you can attract the clients who really need you.

Getting Clear About What You Do and How You Help

Your clients need what you provide. So when your process becomes clear, it's time to talk about what you do in a very bold way. It's not a time to be timid, it's not a time to hold back.

Here are a few examples of clearly defined businesses:

  • A healing intuitive with a unique energetic boundary setting system that provides help for other healers to overcome exhaustion and overwhelm.
  • A Reiki Master whose rejuvenating healing methods boost energy and to help corporate executives get through their busy day without depleting themselves.
  • An animal communicator with a proven course and training method that gives pet owners the ability to use three different techniques so they can know their animal's pain level and physical sensations, enabling them to help manage their animal’s discomfort.

These are examples of clearly defined businesses, what they do and how they help. They speak to who they work with, what they give them, and the results working with them provide.

They’re buyable, right? They sound attractive and worth investing in.

Creating a Signature Process for what you do will increase your visibility in what feels like a crowded market is golden! It is something that shares a bit of your essence, your magic, secret sauce. And that's what creates loyal hearts and soulmate clients for you and your business.

When it comes to marketing your business, use nature as your guide. Be a leader in your market and speak confidently about your process and the amazing outcomes you provide to people.
